Hello,

Where would you base yourselves while looking for IT managers' jobs? My husband and I (plus 2 children) are coming out in mid August. Neither of us has a job so finding one is our priority. We have a friend who comes from New Zealand currently lving near us & she has been giving us advice & has suggested we base ourselves in Taraunga/bay of plenty.

Are there IT jobs in Taraunga & where would you look for them??
Or would we better off basing ourselves in Wellington??

Having spent two days in Tauranga it is really idillic, however do you have PR or a work permit? If not then I would suggest Wellington as Tauranga attracts many kiwi's for the fantastic lifestyle so there is competition for good jobs there, although they will pay less than Wellington or Auckland from what I have found.

I would choose Wellington even if I didn't live here. Not heard of too much IT stuff in the BOP, to be honest.
