Hello all, I guess this is really aimed at the NZ ers and won't get an answer for 12 hours or so, but...
Due to our lack of house sales, we are looking at possibly renting. The reason is to enable us to arrive around september.
My question is to confirm these dates or not...

What is the general job market like in NZ at the moment? - IE slower, etc
Am I right in assuming it will be easier to get a job in sept/oct than in november due to holiday periods? - I think I read on here that many firms tend not to advertise just before and during christmas?

My job is sales manager and we are heading for ChCh if that helps.

There's a frantic rush to finish contracts, jobs, etc. before the holiday, then everything just about dies from Christmas to the end of January.

Yup, we arrived in November and seriously started job hunting around beginning of December...not a good time of year to be job hunting. Employers just don't want to know - too many mince pies to be eaten, then they all shut down for hols....sept/oct should be better.

Thanks for that.
Would add to your rep. but apparently I need to spread it about (or just remember to use it more).
