ok anybody out there have any idea on the proportion of people who are selected from the pool but who do get their PR turned down. Has or does anyone actually know of anyone who has been in this position.

According to the latest fact sheet on the NZ Immigration web site, approx 70% from those who achieve the selection from the EOI pool are invited to apply for a visa, of these approx 95% are successful in being granted residence. Try this address below:

Last week's update on NZIS gives some figures on the number of applications processed accepted and rejected. I was quite surprised at how high the numbers of rejections there were. You do however have to consider that the numbers are worldwide.
