Hi all,

I've been in NZ for about 6 months now but have only just managed to get my access to this forum working (which should be a good indication of how technologically inept I am).

I just wanted to say thank you for all of the posts on here which were invaluable to us in making the move over from the UK and in deciding where to live and work. I'm married to a Kiwi, but she had been living in the UK for about 10 years before the move. A lot changes in 10 years, so it was helpful to have the up to date information here.

6 months in and to coin a Kiwi phrase, so far, "it's all good" (except for the price of books and cheese).

I hope to be able to pass on my own hints and tips and look forward to chatting to you all some more.

Cheers. :cheers

Steve

Welcome.

Lord only knows what you would pay for a book about cheese !

Or a cheese shaped book

Or a book made of cheese

Or a cheese in the shape of a book

:laugh

and the REAL ALE!!!:cheers

Ah. You are so right about the real ale. I've got a friend here who has some brewing experience from the UK, so I'm in the process of trying to persuade him to set up a bit of a home brewing operation here.

Will let you know how I get on and if there will be any opportunities for a tasting!

Cheers.

Will let you know how I get on and if there will be any opportunities for a tasting! hmmmm ..... this could be one of those occasions where only tasting after tasting will get it right:roll

Welcome to the forum Welly Brit! :)

Mmmmm Mac's Brewery in Wellington seems to do the trick for me for Real Ale. :D

Lee & BBB, you two are way too confusing! :laugh

Ah. You are so right about the real ale.

... You guys from outside the Hutt / Welly area are really unfortunate!

Just got back from Pak'n'Save Petone where they have:
Ruddles County
Green King IPA
Old Speckled Hen
Green King Strong Suffolk

Plus a few other Marstons and Fullers beers .... :cheers

For those outside the Welly area and can't get them: :p
