Hi

as I was warned the nznc lost some of my paper work (verification from nmc) for a while which resulted in them sending a letter to say they hadn't received it. I rang the nmc and was told by the most miserable unhelpful woman I have ever had on the end of the phone that they had sent it and i would have to go to the back of the queue again! To make things worse the woman at the nmc had not a dot of understanding how frustrating it all was. And to think I pay my registration fees and verification fees for that grumpy service. I am sure if there are any other nurses who have had to call the nmc verification dept they will know who I mean, she is delightful and is obviously very skilled at acting unhelpful!!

Anyway, I had to wait until evening here to call a very helpful man in nznc who told me they now had the verification and all my paper work in their hands, so panic over. I asked him how long it would take now for the authorisation to come through, he said my immigration agent would hear in 2 weeks. I was really surprised and put the phone down feeling optimistic. It now seems so quick I am doubting he understood what I was saying to him!

Has anyone had their nursing registation through recently? i looked at posts and signatures from earlier in the year giving details when paper work sent off and when it all came through and no one got it in 2 weeks. either the nznc have gone into overdrive or the nice man was talking about something else!

Can anyone shed any light on the mystery? I am hoping I heard right and he got it right and two weeks from now I can send my EOI in and the journey can really begin.

we are moving from impatience to gut squirming anxiety then excitement every time we think about the next few months. keep feeling nauseous at thought of breaking news to 9 & 11 year olds. 9 year old will be fine (sporty boy up for anything) 11 year old girl really settled at school and friendships starting to get important. we will leave it until we drive to airport i think - cowards!!!!

Hi Willow... I don't wish to disappoint you, but OH sent her NZNC registration documents off at the start of the month and Tonix agency kindly chased up the NC last week to see if all had been received OK... it has and we now have an "application number" and are now in a queue pending review... that queue is funnily enough 2 weeks long, so I can only guess this is what they really mean :roll... however I'd like to be proved wrong and hear that all nursing registrations are taking less than the average 4 months that we've been advised off :(

Good luck with it all :nice1

Hi Willow,

My wife applied last year, and if i recall, once everything had been received in NZ it took 6-8 weeks before we heard, not the quickest, but to be fair there were no snags, pretty straight forward really.

certainly don't envy telling the 11 year old!! We have a 7 year old who was very anti NZ, then we had an idea of getting in touch with a family on this forum who had a 8 year old, and we introduced them on-line. They have swapped emails, and now Harry feeld he has a friend waiting.
Just an idea.

Mine took months, only because they kept "losing" everything, once they had it all, it was surprisingly fast, around 3-4 weeks, athough this was 2006 so not very helpful for those waiting now, I'm afraid.
Good luck everyone

Not wishing to hijack the thread, but that is a good idea... thankfully our little one is only 5 and he's up for anything :D

NZNC 'lost' the 2 transcripts that were sent. When I contacted them last year on 2nd Dec they said they had it all - I got my registration end of December. So it seems that once they have all the documents it takes 3-4 weeks to get it all. Hope that helps. :yes

thankyou to everyone for your experiences. i have an application number too, so i must be with your wife in that queue! I just keep thinking that less people will be applying in the english summer because the uk doesn't seem that bad when the sun is shining!! hoping my theory works in my favour and nice man was right and in 2 weeks i will hear something.

anymore recent experiences of the nznc would be appreciated.

Hi

Mmm Yes I think I had the male equivalent at the NMC. Miserable or what and then it took 2 weeks for the information to arrive.

From what I have heard I hear the NZR process takes anything between 6 weeks + but it depends on information submitted.
GOOD LUCK

Hello Willow, Its been ages since I've posted anything as I had really thought that our ITA would expire because the NZNC have been known to take ages, so I tried to avoid any NZ sites!! However, my registration turned up in the post on 24th May! :clap All a bit of a surprise - I didn't contact them to chase up, I just put in all the paperwork and let it go. Its been a pretty hectic week getting everything sorted to take to immigration in London towards the end of June! Also I had only just got a letter from the NMC to say they'd sent the verification (which was the last bit of paperwork NZNC needed) and the NZNC reg came about a week later I think. Good Luck with your registration - sometimes things work out far easier than we expect :)

Hi Willow,

I applied for my nursing registration back in Feb 08, but on chasing my application up, a few weeks ago, the NZNC infromed me that my character refrences are still out- standing, which were definitley sent back in December 07. The NZNC told me that once they have recieved the refrences, the actual processing time can be quite quick. My refrences have been sent again and so I'm still waiting. Good luck with everything.

Good news, as promised by nice man at new zealand nursing council my nurse registration has been authorised with 2 weeks of them receiving all of my references etc, i am over the moon! I know it is a long hurdle yet, but after reading some of the posts about the hassle some nurses have had i was settling down for a long haul. so now we can submit our EOI via our agent and it is all go from then. Had an interview yesterday via skype (which was fantastic and i can highly recommend it) and i will hear mid july early august.

here we go, here we go, here we go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
