We have PR but I had the feeling that we had to submit further documentation for our PR status by July but I can't seem to find any paperwork, all a bit lost with the move, anyone know if there is something we need to do or if this would be personal to us & not standard documents? I seem to think we had to supply pay slips & something else
Any answers gratefully received :cheers

Was your PR tied to job offer Lindsey? If so think it's proof that you've completed the first 3 months so letter from employer and payslips. We'll have to do the same soon so I'll have a hunt for paperwork and post again if I find anything useful :yes

I agree with Karen, if your PR was subject to a section 18A, then there are a couple of extra things that you need to do:-
• you must inform INZ of your residential address and any changes to that address while you are subject to those requirements; and
• you must submit evidence to INZ that within seven months of being granted your first residence permit, the requirements set out above were met.
And as you say, you basically need to submit evidence that you have met the requirements e.g. kept the job for 3 months.

I remember that we are supposed to keep INZ updated on any changes in our circumstances. We have PR.
Should we inform our CO directly of change of address and email address, or do we change it via logging in on he INZ website???

I put my Section 18A letter in a safe place and so had naturally lost it come the time.
I phoned NZIS in Auckland, gave them the number off the blue sticker and told them I didn't know what to submit and they kindly reprinted the letter and sent it out to me again.

OK we've done what we had to & just got an e mail to say my page has been updated so logged in & it now says :
Permit Residence APPROVED 08 Jul 2008 Indefinite
Visa Residence APPROVED 03 Dec 2007 02 Jan 2009
It also says at the top of the page:
Permit Resident Indefinite The holder of this permit may remain in NZ indefinitely. This permit expires when the holder leaves NZ.
So what does this mean? If we go back for a visit to the UK do we need to do anything?
I just want to make sure we can now come & go as we please
Thank you all

Permits are only valid whilst you are in NZ, so as soon as you leave the permit expires.
The RRV allows you to come and go to NZ as often as you like, so as long as this doesn't expire. When you arrive in NZ you will be given a new permit (each time you arrive).
So no, you don't have to do anything until it's time to change your RRV to an IRRV.

Thanks Ian, was waiting for you to log on & reply :)
Does this mean then that our visa runs out in 2 Jan 09 as this is the expiry date given? So if we decided on a trip out the country, hopefully Fiji rather than the UK :), then we would need to get a new visa first?
Would love to give you rep but being told I need to spread it about first so :cheers

Yes, your current visa expires on that date, so you don't want to be out of the country after this time unless you have already renewed your visa (as you won't be allowed to fly back to NZ).
Normally after two years with your PR, you would get it renewed as an IRRV and then this issue won't come up again.
But I'm guessing from your timeline that you won't be able to get the IRRV yet, so you will just get another RRV.
