Hugely late I know and not expecting many replies but me and OH have decided to bundle kids it the car tomorrow and head over to the West Coast :) Haven't booked anywhere - is this foolish, any recommendations for places to stay, are holiday weekends really that busy??

We were warned about going to Hanmer Springs over a Summer public holiday as it would be busy............ It was ........... had to park 20 m's away from cafe we wanted a coffee in :nice1:nice1.
