Does anyone know the cheapest way of sending out a big package from the UK? My mother-in-law has bought a couple of car seats for our twins and was planning on bringing them out in October when she comes over. However the twins are getting big already so won't be able to last in their current seats until then.

As they are car seats they can't be reduced in size and putting it in the post will cost £100s.

Has anyone found a cheap way of sending things over from the UK?

Cheers.

http://www.sevenseasworldwide.com/ (I have used them from NZ to UK, but Pip used them from UK to NZ)
or fedex

My dad used his company to post out our parcels, so I don't know what he used as his companies deal with few overseas orders.

The problem is that when she was over she had a look at the car seats (for some reason she wants to buy them and only them) and hated all of them as they are very boring here. So she has bought two of them in the UK as they have a much nicer range.

I'll tell her about Seven Seas as they definitely like the cheapest that I've seen on the web!

Thanks for your help.

MIL regularly posts us fairlylarge boxes of stuff using fedex....far far cheaper than royal mail/parcelforce. I think the most expensive box she sent us cost £30 but it had some heavy pewter ornament things in it (she is clearing our her house and moving to retirement bungalow).

All sorted now; the MIL stopped the order from the company before they shipped them over to her as she had found out how much it would cost to post them over here.

She then went online to a Dutch company where she paid less for the car seats, had a bigger choice and they will ship them directly to New Zealand which means that she doesn't have to pay VAT. Shipping price is €75 and they also deal with all the customs / duty on both Dutch and NZ sides.
