I was wondering if anyone could answer this question.
Must you take a minimum amount of money into the country and if there is what is it ???

It would depend on your visa , but they would expect you to have enough to live on if its a visitors visa, as you will have no means to earn any without a work permit. Not sure if they would check this at all - as to a maximum, I seem to remember hearing/ reading no more than £10,000 in cash when entering the country, you would be able to transfer direct to an account any figure you like - but who in their right minds would want to carry that amount?!

Try emailing customs to see if they can advise you.

We would be applying for PR status. We will have a job offer.
And I was wondering if they say you have to have a minimum then. We would have enough to cover getting there and renting for a few months with uk money but I was wondering if they have a minimum then on entering the country.

We came on PR with job offer and weren't asked to prove how much cash we had - I think they assume that if your job offer meets the relevant salary requirement then that's enough to be going on with

As said by others, if you have a job offer then they consider that to be sufficient to support you, thus you don't need to prove anything.

That said, they don't seem to ask too often anyway.

As above, the money issue only arises when entering on a visitors' visa.
