Hey everyone

Just thought I would mention I used their service rather than my local station. I sent the form off on Wednesday last week and it arrived today (Tuesday). So it got back to me pretty quickly!

oh and I'm clean too which is nice to hear!

Hi Andy... good to hear you're clear :nice1

Nursing agency have advised us the ACPO checks are the way forward, as the old system is being phased out... also good to hear there's a quick turnaround with them compared to the old system

After the trouble Lee had with this I'm glad to hear it's not all bad. :)
That turnaround is *very* quick compared with in the past! I guess you get what you pay for (can't ever take that for granted!).

Andy... do you happen to have the link for getting the ACPO check done? We've been advised to apply for ours within the next month or so and the link will come in handy.

Thanks

Trouble? Theres an understatement..!
2 1/2 months after first contacting ACPO i STILL await a police certificate, they are so bad it beggars belief.

After all the hassles i had convincing to do me a certificate, they finally allegedly completed me a certificate and "allegedly" posted it back on the 13th of May, guess what still no sign of it after over three weeks, when i phoned them (at some ungodly NZ hour) all they could offer as a customer service? "Well Sir its not our responsibility after its been posted, please arrange a new payment of fees and we could do a new certificate for you!"

When i pointed out that i will NOT be paying twice for a service they are due to provide, i got passed to the boss of the place! who i quote "Sir if it was so important then you should have used a courier service for return" to which i replied that they do not offer any options of a safe return else i would of..! GGGRRRR "Ah yes are forms currently do not offer the courier service but we can arrange it none the less, we may look to add this service to our forms at a later stage"

I also pointed out that passing the buck to the postal service doesn't wash, i mean if i had "lost" the payment in the post would he accept it wasn't my responsibility and do the service for me anyhow? Like hell they would, they would wait for me to send a 2nd payment at my expense, so as i pointed out, as my Cert appears "lost" then they can send another at there expense! He wouldn't listen though. "Sir i cannot help you any further".

So in summary, glad you had some "luck" with there poor service, but right now i am 6 days from becoming an illegal immigrant mainly because these incompetent morons (is that too strong? no there ruining my life its not!) are unable to provide a service at all. Stinks of UK bureaucracy as ever! Wonder if there Ex BT staff?

GGRRRRRRRRRGGGGRRR i hate the ACPO fools with a passion!
My lawyers are dealing with them know! (evil snigger)

I know mate, but the fact i just got home from Immigration Lawyers meeting and they said they are a road block until this damn ACPO get off there behinds, and then reading the kind thread about them kind of hit a nerve..!!!

Sorry but the irony of it is, i have no criminal record, BUT i am about to get one for being an illegal, because i cant produce a criminal record certificate!? Gotta love irony.

Hell i still stand by my words, the ACPO couldn't organise a....... (you know the rest)

... Thanks Ian :nice1

Lee... after reading your post weeks ago about trying to sort your Police clearance out, I find it incredible that they're still messing you about. Sums up the UK though doesn't it and just one of the many reasons why we're all trying to flee the sinking ship.

Surely though you've got enough evidence to convince the authorities you've done as much as you possibly can to obtain a Police clearance.

I wish you all the best at sorting matters out, dare I say... "keep us posted" :exit ;)

LOL nice posted gag..
Thankfully i have nice people doing the work for me now, so i let them deal with evidence etc, but it is astounding after best part of three months they cant get there act together.

Lee was your disclosure check no good in the end? Just curious cos they used to be a bit more thorough than normal police checks so that should have done the job?? Or I'm I just being too sensible :o

All the best

No idea yet Karen, my Enhanced Disclosure was from late 2006 so my consultants have it, but not sure if they used it. I agree they generally more thorough than a police check anyhow, i know it took masses of paperwork to get that a couple years ago (the company i was working for was doing schools maintenance).

Time will tell,
