Just like to inform all of you that we were granted Approval in Principle for PR today. :cheers :cheers :cheers :P

I mailed our case officer (too scared to call) as she said she'd let us know at the start of this week, after having our interview last week.

We were really worried as our case officer at the end of the interview said she let us know if it were to be PR or the 2 yr visa, but she said she hadnt made up her mind what to grant us.

Its been a long week/weekend, but we finally got a reply today, and it was GREAT news!

Its been a long time coming (sent off the paper application in Jan04) but hopefully all worth it now.

I'm off to crack open the champers bottle with the better half, and party hard tonight.

Just as a side-note, any of you concerned about NZIS getting in touch with your current employers this is what I got back from our case officer regarding their policy

"Hi Mike - generally we have no need to contact your employer as
appreciate the difficulties involved - would never do so without your
prior knowledge so don't worry.
Regards"

Thanks for all your kind words. Even though the hangover is in full flow, it cant wipe that smile off my face :P

Diny - dont plan on leaving until the year end, as still so much to see/do in the UK and Europe before jet setting off to the furthest corner of the world! Now all we have to do is find the money to pay for all these holidays we've booked for this year :wah
