Is this available in NZ or is there another name for it? It's the only painkiller/anti-inflamatory that works for OH.

Very expensive though if you buy Nurofen Brand!!! Around $8.50 for 24 tablets!

There are some supermarkets that have their Signature Range Brand now which is a bit cheaper - otherwise - as Sophia said - you can get it in pharmacies.

It's cheaper to buy own brand ibuprofen, and it's widely available.

Oh yes I had this problem as a wisdom tooth flared up whilst I was there and couldn't find it at first but you can get it most places when you look. Also the co-codamol equivalent there is Panadeine Plus which hit the spot for me in terms of killing the pain.

Yes, own brand ibuprofen is indeed cheaper at the supermarkets, though still way more expensive than the same from Sainsbury's, Morrisons et al.

Try asking the pharmacist to buy a dispensing pack of ibuprofen. They come in packs of 100 and it will be cheaper than buying smaller quantities off the shelf. They will be kept in the dispensary so you will have to ask for them. If the counter assistant doesn't know what you are talking about ask to speak to the pharmacist. Similarly with co-codamol, there is a dispensary pack of 100 called Codalgin, also kept in the dispensary.
For a stronger anti-inflammatory it is worth remembering that you can get Diclofenac 25mg over the counter in NZ. (brand name Voltaren).

I found a 72 pack of Nurofen at Countdown for a really good price, but I'm not sure how many Countdowns have this. I miss the bottles of 100-200 Ibuprofen though, they were really useful to purchase once or twice a year.
