OH has applied for and is in the interview process for a job in Hamilton. I have spent a fair bit of time on the internet looking at info about the place, but it is usually from a tourism or goverment agency point of view. I'm a young stay at home mum with 2 kids (2.5yr old boy, 9.5 month old girl), so what I want is the opinion of other stay at home mums as to what is on offer in Hamilton to entertain my energetic young kids during the week while OH is at work??
Also just another general question - my kinds love been outside, but what do you do when it is raining all the time??? (I currently live in Brisbane, Australia where we have been in a drought since before my oldest was born)

Welcome to the forum, there are a few Hamilton people on here who will give you better info than me as I live down the road in Cambridge.

Rain in NZ? :laugh

It doesn't rain all the time! It pees down for a few hours and then the sun comes out again. Compared to the UK it is bliss. We live in Cambridge down the road too, but we often do things in Hamilton. My kids love the gardens and the museum, which has a fab kids' section. Someone from Hamilton will be along soon with more info.

I was a stay at home mum until my youngest turned 5 :) There are lots of things to do with little ones in Hamilton & I have a good group of friends I've met while going to things with my youngest daughter.
She was a little older than your two so she went to Kindy for 3 afternoons a week. But we went to a local playgroup one morning a week, mainly music another morning which was run by a local church and she loved that and then we went swimming at water world where the toddler pool was full of toys, inflatables, slides ect.
Loads of things to do outside like going to the river, the gardens, the lake and lots of nice playgrounds locally. If you want to do inside things there is always lollipops which is a softplay place but a bit expensive. Also on a wednesday morning there is a cinema showing where you can take the kids and it's not a problem is they are noisy.
I found there were alot of stay at home mums & dads compared to the uk so the community provides things for them. I lived in Pukete but there are those things going on all over town.
As others have said it doesn't rain all the time, I do wished it rained alittle more because now we live in the country we are living of rain water :)
