Hello all =)

I thought it was about time I said hi to everyone, having been reading this forum a fair bit over the past few days. Hubby and I have wanted to move to NZ for a while (we've talked about it on and off ever since we got married) and now our children are here we think it's time to move to somewhere they can breathe as they grow up.

We submitted our EoI today!:clap Now we just have to wait until it gets selected and then I guess the real fun will start. As if anything could be more fun than holding up a baby in the passport photo booth at Tesco and trying to get a decent picture without someone's hands in it :laugh

(Interestingly, has anyone else had problems with trying to submit an EoI with a baby aged <1 or was it just me?)

If it were me I wouldn't have let them help as they are bound to hit the wrong button :D:D:exit

joking aside - good luck and welcome to the forum

Good luck!

I've just had a batch of photos done for me and my 3 girls (5, 4 and 19mths). As we need so many (we don't have passports yet!) I arranged to upload them to an online company. I sat us all down in front of the fridge/freezer :laugh. Was much easier than being in a booth and a whole lot cheaper (£1 for eight pics plus handling and postage). Bit pointless telling you this now though I suppose, oh well you'll know if you need to get some more done.

The reason for no job offer is that we thought we'd rather get there and spend a few months travelling around before settling down and finding a house, a job, etc (although doing that with 2 cats might be interesting). If it would make things significantly easier I could abandon that idea - is it just that people with jobs to go to are fast-tracked? Any ideas how long ITA will take without job offer?

Hi, We're doing the same. Both in high pressure jobs so we're planning to take a couple of months off to settle in once there.

Concerning the time it takes, we're using a consultant which seems to help speed things up as they know what to do when - ours says it can be done in 5 months when no job offer. This assumes you have all your paperwork ready for when you receive your ITA. It took us about 2 months to get all the papers together. We now have pretty much everything apart from medicals and police clearances. He reckons we should have PR by late September. I have a job until 1 Jan 09, so this all works well for us.

Good luck and enjoy the ride.

Welcome to the forum, good luck.

Would think twice about a consultant, just as easy to do it yourself.

And beware of Larry !! It is going to become your best friend in the application process, or Dennis the Desktop pc for that matter :)
