Just wanted to share with everyone this little tip which is making me sooo happy:clap
I bought this "grow tunnel" off trade me for $28. and planted it up with lettuce, greens, leeks, silverbeet, beets, onions and moved a couple of pepper plants from pots into it. That was three weeks ago and I am already using the greens for salads!
so easy and you dont even have to have much space as it takes up hardly any room. I have mine on a raised bed area so I don't even have to bend over to harvest my crops!
It allows you to open it up on sunny days and the clips keep the plastic in place.
whoohoo. organic veggies!

Well done! I have been looking for tunnels too, but much bigger size :roll as I have missed going outside to fetch my vegetables and herbs for cooking like zucchini, too cold for them now :uhoh

Known as a "cloche" in UK I believe??? Good on ya, we have been eating chilli's last week, they still producing fruit just sat in a pot on the deck. Cabbages, tomatoes (too numerous to mention!) potatoes, rhubarb, pumpkins, celery, fantastic here innit!!!

probably not so good. The plastic is strong enough but would be easy enough to replace anyway. I guess you are really paying for the hoops and the wire clips.
any way I think it will get through an auckland winter and meanwhile I have already starting picking greens for the salad veggies. :yes

Green finger bug caught.
Bought some broccoli, collie and lettuce plants today and transplanted them into big pots, hopefully not too late in the season to get them going.
First batch will be pot grown, then after this winter we plan to create some raised beds and do a more comprehensive range - carrots, spuds, herbs, radishes etc....
