Hi everyone,
I will be leaving for Manchester airport in a few hours time where I will be sending my wife off on a very long Emirates flight to Christchurch via Dubai and Sydney. As I am most definitely positive that I want to emigrate Louise is going on her own to go over again and have a reccie and make up her mind whether she would want to live in NZ.
She is over for 8 nights (not inc the flights) so hopefully this will be enough time and she will come back saying YES lets go for it !!.
I will let you know if it's thumbs up when she gets back.
James and Louise.

Hi James & Louise
Hope the 'recce' trip goes according to plan... we spent 2 days in Christchurch during our 'recce' trip in April and fell for the place... it certainly ticks all the right boxes for us :yes
Good luck with it all :nice1

James Louise, Hi
I am going to do the same recce in January, flights already booked, and would really like to hear your experiences of CHCH as it's our location of choice to.
What line of work are you both in? Again I'm curious as our move depends on my wife, who is a GP, finding work as she is the main bread winner.
Will look out for your post soon.
Regards
Phil & Tracey +4
PS
Is it something about Cheshire? We're just up the road in Altrincham.

Getting work as a GP should be no problem. Some of the outlying towns that have grown over the last few years are VERY short of doctors as are the hospitals. Many of the newly qualified medical staff head for Australia and beyond because the wages are better.
