Commute :p
Bit of a random poll, cause I bet I've got one of the shortest commutes on the forum. I can stroll to work in under 2 mins :D

p.s It doesn't count if you work from home! :)

I really can't say, it's so different. If I take the bus, it is about 45 minutes to 1 hour (with walking to bus and waiting).
Car is totally unpredictable, depends on traffic, time of the morning, etc, but I've had everything from 25 minutes to 1 hour (!).
The most predictable is cycling, which takes me about 35-40min, but I realistically need to include the shower I have at my workplace when I get there.
Oh, the actual length is 11.2km one way, so taking 1hour for that is utterly ridiculous.
Way TMI, or what? Sorry, just wasn't sure which box to tick :)

Ditto! Actual distance is about 25km, and it varies with time of day and direction from 35 mins to an hour and ten. Ferry, with getting to and from harbour, is around 50 mins.

Well, I ticked under 45 mins, but its actually a 25min walk or 5 min drive - depending on the weather, my daughter and whether OH is on nights!!!!

I drive for 50 minutes from Cambridge to Tokoroa, but I get paid for the time, and it's a work car and petrol, so it's actually the easiest part of my working day.

Hmmm... well don't know if my commute counts as a commute as its also the school run! :)
On a good day less than 5 mins in the car, on a not so good day less than 20 mins. I actually walked home the other day and it took me about 30mins but I reckon with sprog in tow it would take close to an hour. Think I'll tick the less than 20mins option.

Mine's about 4km - 5mins to drive to where I park and a 5min walk from there.
If I walk the whole thing then it's 20mins, but I've not bothered to do that yet :(

Mine is about 20 mins walk, which involves dropping little one off at school on way!

I'm pretty much the same, only work down the road so it takes me maximum 5 minutes, probably 2 if I don't wait too long at the traffic light ;)

Takes about 20 minutes from Royal Oak to Takapuna - but that's at 5:30 am !
The return trip takes about half an hour, but the whole things is going to take longer as I bought a bicycle last weekend and my cycling commute has a ferry in the way :D

OH takes the bus to CBD...25 minutes at most and walks about 10 minutes to park & ride....so under 45 minutes everyday :) So much better than the 2.5 hours each way he used to do travelling from midlands to London or the 75-80 minute drive each way he used to do across midlands.

Well I work in Christchurch but live in Oxford. If there was no traffic in Marshlands road it would have been 45min but usually takes 1 hour.
I have to say after having to take a bus for 6 miles and commuting 1.5 hours in Brighton(and this is only one way) I am happy to drive 1 hour each way as it is nice to see trees, deers, sheep ect :)

mine is longer as I have to drop off Jas at SIT - but I only drive to town - drop him off and park and wait for the work bus, so I get to read on the bus for the actual 30 min ride to work.
I had a quicker commute when I first arrived - 2min from our rental to the parks office LOL

Auckland traffic is horrendous, my commute in UK was 3 times as far, but took the same time as my 12k into Mount Wellington.
I regularly bike in now, it's as quick as the car, and much more predictable, though the streets aren't bike friendly in any shape or form and you need to be very watchful.

20 - 25 minutes. I normally leave home at 8:02 (in a rush as I wanted to leave at 8:00); get on the Stanley Bay ferry at 8:05; off the ferry at 8:17 and then a 5/10 minute walk depending on traffic lights into work.
Total cost of the commute is $120 per month for the ferry ticket.

Depends where I'm working. At the moment, my commute to the airport takes about 45 minutes. That's in rush hour traffic from Herne Bay. Trip home is usually the same, but the other night took over 2 hours as someone crashed on the Mangere bridge, causing a huge tailback.
When I'm working in town it takes 20-30 minutes to walk, 15 on the bus (as it seems to stop almost every hundred metres!) and only 5 minutes to cycle.
