The packers are here, I'm sitting in a corner on the laptop surrounded by men with boxes and tape!!

We leave the house tomorrow and fly out to Singapore on Wednesday - we will be in Tauranga Wednesday 18th June!! Thank god for the double baggage allowance - we are struggling even at that!

Only fly in the ointment is our 1 year old has decided to be ill. On Thursday last week he woke up covered from head to toe in spots - we thought it was measles or chickenpox or something equally contagious which meant no flights for us this week.Turns out he's had a severe allergic reaction to something , probably the pencillin he had for an ear infection. Anyways he's now on steriods and massive doses of Piriton and we are praying it will be significantly better by Wednesday - he isn't coping with the UK temperatures so the heat of Singapore will be awful if it doesn't clear up.

I suspect this will be the last post for a while so speak to you all on the other side, and fellow Tauranga forum members hopefully I'll see some of you in the flesh.

Best of luck. It's getting very real now isn't it? Have a great flight and hope little Lewis feels better soon. Isn't Piriton a bit of a sedative? Every cloud and all that...!

Best of luck!!! Seriously, an allergic reaction to (a) penicillin is no bad thing. :) My daughter was highly allergic to Amoxicillin, and I don't know if she's over it now, but apparently allergies to penicillin when children are under 2, and they often outgrow those allergies.

(I won't give my personal views on penicillin here ;) ).

Many many congrats on having everything everything packed up and best of luck with the flights! Remind yourself you only have the one bub to take care of. ;) I know of people who've emigrated with 3 children under 5, and 2 of them being ill! Argh!!!!! :exit

How did you manage this? SA have said the visa MUST contain the words ' ....stay indefinitely'. I too have PR and have been communicating with them. They say we don't qualify for the double baggage allowance but will give us an extra 10kg each.:(
