I'm about to submit my EOI, if I recieve an ITA what is the risk? Does it mean that you are likely to get PR!?
Have some people gone through the process (spending a fortune on application fees, medicals etc) and then been rejected!!??

A small percentage don't progress (about 6% iirc) not including withdrawals. This includes medical refusals. The risks at that stage are very low - they've already assessed your status and have found it to be suitable. All they are asking at the ITA stage is that you prove what you've claimed. They are not looking for reasons to fail you.
The only 'uncontrolled' risk is that your medical turns up something you didn't know about. A controlled risk is that you have an existing condition that the medical assessor takes exception to.
