Hi,
Quick question we have enough points to get selected from the pool with no job offer but using points for my telephone engineering job.
If we got pr would there be a work restriction where by I would only be able to work in the same role or would it be a open work permit for me to do any job I wish ?

It's my understanding (having applied without job offer with points claimed in long-term skills shortage areas and rec'd PR) that there are no restrictions in this regard. I imagine it would be their hope that skilled migrants work in the field/s they have need for in NZ but I saw nothing in the application or PR letter that stated specific limitations.

My understanding is that if you count points for a job offer to get PR then you need to stay in that job for 3 months. I think in your case, if you have enough points without a job offer then you are free to gain employment wherever you like :nice1
