Hi!

The Moving Company asked us to fill-in and return a thick pile of forms (AHHHH!) for Customs, including certified copies of our passports and work visas. The letter says that this can be done by 'a justice of peace' (where do you find them???) or 'your local police station'. Does anyone has any experience with this stuff and can help us out? They seem to want everything back ASAP...

All we did is look up justice of the peace in the telephone directory and phoned each one up in turn until we found one local who was available.

Note they do not charge to certify your documents.

We got ours done at Wellington police station & I wasn't even there just OH with all our docs

I ended-up in Wellington police station too (just a minute walk from the Quest where we are staying) and it took less than two minutes and no charge. I LOVE the NZ way of doing things! (although in NZ House, London, we paid £20 for certification needed for work visa???)

We used Hamilton courthouse. Cetification free but they were supposed to charge for photocopying (we hadn't any copies)

I say 'supposed' becuase the lady said 'the boss aint looking, so I'm not charging you'.
