We have been asked to provide a document to prove work experience. Has anyone done one of these? I have been an electrican for 18 years! what exactly are they looking for?

Any advice would be great.

Mark and Kerry:)

Thanks for that. Apparently the EWRB requires quite a comprehensive document including details such as cabling, lighting and lighting circuitry, switchboards and fittings connected to those switchboards to name but a few!!!!:no

Got not idea how I am supposed to put all my experiences down on paper?

Hopefully someone will have done one of these already?!! Oh well, might have to give the EWRB a ring!!

Thanks

Mark and Kerry

ah yes, there's a few electricians around - they probably know the ins and outs of it all :)

Lee's template should be good.

... the point if the letter is to show what type of voltage, frequency, phases installation, testing and types of wiring that you have routinely carried out. I.e. show that you have completed all the items the EWRB list as expected competencies on their website.

P.S. don't get too stressed, just list the technical competencies; not a detailed list of dates.

Thanks might take you up on that! but it sounds like Leccy Lee has the perfect solution! hopefully it will make it more straight forward!! Our patience is already being tested as you can imagine. I thought waiting for the ITA was the stressful part!!

Thanks again.

What a helpful chap! You need to stay Lee just to keep helping put like this. We too used Lee's template and it worked just fine. Good luck with it all. It will all be worth it, promise :yes

Hi Mark
You need to have your qualifications and experiences assessed by the EWRB (takes about 6 weeks) I have just recieved a letter from them which entitles me to a Provisional License. With regards to your experiences they need to know what types of equipment and appliances that you have installed/repaired, voltages you have worked with, cable types you have worked with and the terminations made.
Cheers
Andrew.
