Hi all

I'm probably being really dense but does anyone know the answer to this one.

I have a qualification that I know someone else has already had assessed. I want to submit the EOI but do I still need to get my qualification seperately assessed?

And if so, WHY?

I'm assuming assessed means checked and ranked against the NZ levels, and then points awarded depending on rank.

Is that right too?

Any help gratefully recieved. Any really useful help and I'll buy cakes and ice cream in Auckland ...!

Sounds about right. There's a huge list of qualifications that NZ already knows about, but even more (City & Guilds, for example) that they don't.

Why don't they build there database of quals the've assessed as they go!? Seems like they are making work for themselves, maybe that fact that we have to pay has something to do with it! :(

And when you start your job, say, as a teacher, you need to be assessed again because the salary department don't take the word of the NZQA, which governs all assessments, or the Teachers' Council. What a load of pants!!!

I've posted the question on the NZ immigration site but I guess I now know what the answer is going to be.

Seems like a load of running around and expense for no good reason but hey if we get there I'll definately stump up the cakes and ice cream!!
