The Jackson Pages (my website) is looking for a new host in NZ.
Since coming to NZ I have been unable to update the Jackson Pages and as such the content is out of date, therefore I have made the decision to move to a new host and maybe a domain name.
I have had a look at www.discountdomains.co.nz and not sure about their terms & conditions (they want $40 for hosting & email + $5 per invoice if I pay through internet banking). If you or anyone you know have experience of web hosting in NZ please can you offer me some guidance.
Thank you.
BTW - there will be no need for shopping trolleys or e-commerce stuff, just your basic run of the mill 100mB of storage etc.

I have three domains with Discount, and they only cost $29 NZ + GST per year. That's just for the domain, of course. It actually pays to have your domains 'owned' by one company and your website hosted on another - this can make host changing somewhat easier if the need arises.
A couple of New Zealand web hosting companies I use, apart from Telecom Xtra, which is very expensive (comparatively), are:
MyHost (http://www.myhost.co.nz/site/packages) - Their servers are in America, but it doesn't seem to make much difference to speed.
KiwiWebhost (http://kiwiwebhost.co.nz/webhosting.htm) - Servers are in New Zealand, but don't seem as 'powerful' as MyHosts ones.
Although both offer similar 'technical' packages, I'd go for MyHost out of the two. :nice1
P.S. If cost isn't a factor you could also check out Orcon (http://www.orcon.co.nz/start/). They are for the more 'serious' type of web hosting, but are just as suitable for 'casual' websites, as well. :cool

The company I work for offers hosting - Have a look at http://www.surgemedia.co.nz - in their 'products and services' section:
$20 per month for 75mb
$34 per month for 150mb
Plus it's pretty comprehensive so if you did ever want to inculde SQL, PHP, shopping carts etc, it can all be accomodated.
It think these prices are pretty competitive.
Let me know what you think.
