Hi Guys,

I am about to get my work experience letter issued for immigration. Can any one tell me what the content of the letter is supposed to be? I have heard that it should describe what my job was and wether I was full time or not?

What additional details should I get my ex employer to include in the work experience letter as it would take me a loooong time to get a new one issued if this one doesn't have all the info!

Thanks for the help!

It should tell you on the EOI. You need them to say (on headed notepaper if possible) when you started, how long you worked for them, full or part-time (with hours) and what you duties/role/responsibilities were. It's a 'to whom it may concern' letter not a reference (I had to explain that to one or two previous employers who tried to tell me it was too long ago etc.)

Good luck

What if one of the info was missing, lets say the number of hours, willl that matter or will they accept it?

mm, my employer refuses to mention my project name or responsibilities. He agreed to mention the title (Senior Software Engineer), start date, salary and work type (full-time / part-time). Would that be enough?

should be - mine was very basic, start date, job title, full time (hours)
I think if it says full time that might be alright, better if it had the hours though...
