Hi all

The skills list says that to claim bonus points for a qualification in environmental science on the skills shortage list you have to have a bachelor of science in environmental studies.

Do you think I match this - I have bachelor of science in Geography + Bsc honours in Environmental science.

Not exactly the same - but how strict will they be and who decides? Is it NZQA or NZIS?

If NZQA assess my bsc hons, will they tell me if I match the requirements?

Are you sure you have to have your degrees assessed? First check to see if they're on the recognised list, most UK Uni's are? But have you not been down this road before as I recall your name froma while ago?

NZQA just give you a level but you can find out what level is needed I think somewhere or rather most need level 7. A degree should get a level 7 anyway.

yes, we have been down this road before. But with different qualifications.

I know that my Bsc hons is level 8 already, so the level matches as I'm sure a Bsc in Environ Studies (the requirement for this occupation) is level 7, so we meet the level and then some - but what I am confused about is because the wording of my degree doesn't match the wording of the requirement for the LTSSL - will someone need to review my degree content to make sure it's the same thing?? Or will the case officer just make the decision? Or doesn't it matter because the level matches? We have been down this road before so I am REALLY scared of going through the whole process again if we don't have all our ducks in a row first.

I would email them, they answered my queries quickly I recall. Wouldn't have thought it would matter if wording doesn't match; I've been offfered job in Early Childhood, degree completely unrelated (food marketing sciences) and PGCE early yrs but not equivalent to Early Childhood which is on LTSSL.
