Hi Guys,

Ive come over from the introductions forum to pick your brains!:p

I am moving to Wellington In approx 6-8 weeks and will be starting my new job straight away.

Obviously I need to find somewhere to rent. I need to think of a short term let with everything I need (motel?) and also something longer term for me and family.

I will be working in Wellington and obviously want a nice are with good schooling for my Five year old.

I will also need to buy a car (Are they expensive?), Its all so spontaneous I havent actually planned anything, although can be ready to go I dont want to forget anything.

Is there a pinned thread anywhere for this stuff?

Any welly Info would be brilliant. Also I ride and have my own horses (who wont be coming unfortunately :() Id like to keep riding and will buy another - does anyone know horsey areas around welly? How likely would it be to find soemwhere to rent thats a) warm (ive been doing some reading!), B) Clean and in good repair c) Close to work (as possible) D)Furnished with Land for horse?

So many questions :)

Would recommend that you get used to the search facilites as you will find that most things have been discussed many times before.

What sort of work are you doing and do you know where it is based as Wellington region actually covers a very large area.

Finding furnished rentals won't be too easy as most rentals are unfurnished, but you can rent furniture if you need to, you may also be able to rent a holiday bach at this time of year which will be furnished.

If you haven't looked yet, the trademe website is a good place to start looking at costs of things, it has rentals, cars etc all in one place.

I don't know much about the horse side of things but have just started looking for my daughter & there are quite a few places around the Johnsonville area it seems, maybe all over I'm not sure as we have just looked locally for example:
www.horsetrekking.co.nz
Good luck with everything

short term try the Quest facilities. Can recommend Quest on Johnston.
got everything you need until you get a chance to find your bearings.

Next step is trawling trademe plus the listings for rentals in the Dominion Post (Sat is biggest listing?)

Have a look at Quinovic property managers for longer term rentals.

St Marks school is also very very good.

Good luck
