Been thinking about going for Freeview HD here rather than forking out for Sky (had Sky before, never really watched it that much and freeview offers a reasonable choice here now)
Anyway, as I understand it you need a decent signal through your UHF aeriel (the one that Prime and Maori TV broadcast on)
We do get these channels but with average reception quality.
We have a pretty uninterupted view out to Te Aroha transmitter so should be able to get a decent pic.
My question: Anybody have a ball park figure for getting a new improved UHF aerial installed and is there anything I have misunderstood in the above?

BBB will be waiting to hear replies to this, we've got a 'free' freeview box on its way - my Oh decided to upgrade our Tv to a bigger one and got a free box in the deal. Been trying to read up on it a bit but not being a teccie it all Japanese to me. Wondering if it will work through the sky dish (the dish and leads are still in place from previous owners - Oh forks out for new Tv but will not subscribe to sky - so dish not used!) Anyway we are waiting for the box to come then see what happens! We may have to hire a 'nerd' to come and sort it out! :o

For Freeview there are two different types, one that connects to an aerial and the other that connects to a dish.
So it depends on which one you are getting as to what you will have to connect it to.

Sam, there is supposedly good coverage on UHF in "the Tron" but not in Cambridge :(
Don't know what UHF antenna you have but if you need it upgrading just gizza shout when the time comes, I'll sort it for ya.
