Hi all

Filling in EOI at the moment. Occupation section, it says to name your occupation. Then it says that your main occupation is the job that you have spent the most time doing in the past 12 months.

Now, my situation is thus - I have just started a job (3 months in) so obviously the thing that I've spent the most time doing in the past 12 months is not this job but my previous job - so do I put previous job down??? Don't really want to because previous job isn't relevant to qualifications/won't qualify for points and is basically irrelevant but new job - is linked to my qualification in an area of absolute skills shortage so makes me look better - know what I mean. ie makes me look like I've at least got some experience in my area of qualification (even thought it also won't qualify for extra points because it's less than 2 years).

What should I do? Any one help?

I would put down the new job as it is relevant to your application and what you want to do in NZ. It's not like they need a detailed CV or dates at each job, or do they:confused:

No, they don't ask for dates (unless you are claiming points for work experience or bonus points for work experience - which I am not).
Thanks - that's probably what I will do - just hoping it's the right thing - don't want to be chucked out the pool for something small like that.

... they need the dates for each position you've had, but you don't need to bother with a job description, just a brief explanation why your work experience should be recognised.

Good luck :nice1

Doh... just noticed you've replied :D

There's one thing I've learnt with forums and that is never allow being interrupted by a work colleague whilst replying to a post :D
