The panic begins!!!!
Off for "just a few" glasses of wine now, of the NZ variety of course!
It's a long process without a job offer but it is achieveable, can't wait to meet you all out there!

Once you are approved in principle, do you have many more steps left to do?

No basically we just have to send in the Migrant levy money and our passports and that's it. ALthough we are holding off on that for a bit as we want to get the house on the market first and join everyone else trying to sell their house! :uhoh

Hi, I have a couple of questions - once you receive your approval-in-principal, how long are you given to actually 'arrive' in NZ? Also, has anyone had the experience of getting 'approval-in-principla' without a job offer?

HI spooky,
yes people here have got approval without job offers
as for the timescale, someone will come along with definite answers at some point, but I think you have 6 months after getting approval in principal to return your passports & pay the migrant levy then a longer period after that before you have to activate your visas, although not sure if its 12 months or longer...

Yes, it's 12 months from the time you are issued the visa to arrive in NZ to activate it.
You can of course arrive in NZ to activate the PR and then leave again if you need to.

Oh cool! Thanks Ian and 'dusk' for the information. I've always wondered when to apply, knowing I'll not make a move for another 1-2 years. I guess I could still submit all the applications and documents sooner than later (We have 165 points each, no job offer) since the whole process could take up to 6 months to a year!
I've said it before and I'll say it again - this forum has been a godsend! Thank you thank you again! :clap
