hey all
well, the EOI is all ready to rock but unsure as what to do next. have 110 with no job offer and need to sell house first. is it worth submitting in these circumstances or a waste of money due to the above?

Have a look at the MZIS website and you can see the past selections and how many were picked from the pool for each number of points. You can also see the total number left in the pool and if it's fairly low I would say think about submitting. Think how you would feel if it dipped to 110 and you hadn't got your EOI in the pool. But any chance of a job offer to raise your points? It certainly has gone down to 110 but not often in past year, but you could well be lucky.

We were selected on 105 pts. You can always add a job offer later.

Best of luck.

i dont know about any all visa types but if you looking for pr visas you are given 12 months
to travell to nz to activate them from the day they are issued.
the pr visa proccess can take around 12 months from EOI to being granted visas
so you have around two to two and a half years to sell you places here in the uk.
one thing i would say is be realistic with the price if you want to sell your house.
there are around 8-10 houses for sale that are the same or similar to mine on our little estate.
ours is the only one to have sold because we were flexible and realistic.
our buyers looked at all the others and none would budge on price even though some had been up for
sale at prices reccomended by the estate agents quite some time before the credt crunch hit.

We applied nearly 3 years ago with 110 points when the minimum was 100. We had no job offer and owned a house and wasn't ready to leave the UK at that time as needed to save more. We were selected from the pool and we did get offered PR. There are a number of points during the process when you can slow it down, e.g. take the maximum length of time to submit the application, provide documents etc. So it took nearly a year before we were offered PR. We then had another 12 months to arrive (this was June 2007). We still weren't ready to move to NZ as was then working in Australia for a year so arrived in NZ June 2007 to get our PR stamped, but only stayed a week. We then arrived Jan 2008 to actually live here - 2.5 years after we went into the pool. Therefore it may make sense for you to make the submission now as you have the points. You can always add a job offer to the application later if you have one as it will only strenghten your case. For us we knew it was unlikely we would get a job offer prior to arriving in NZ so we had to try to get in without it. If we hadn't applied at that time shortly after the points required went up and we wouldn't have had enough points without a job offer. Good luck.

... good decision and best of luck. We're in the 18th June draw also, so we'll be keeping a close eye on events.

With regards PR, like others have said you've got plenty of time to get them activated... if you've not sold your house in time, I guess you could plan a holiday for the future to get them activated... costly, but worth while doing.

Good luck :nice1
