hi,

now my nurse registration has come through we are all go at this end. our agent has just said that i can't submit EOI until i have a job offer! I have enough points 160 without job offer and 240 with job offer, so now iam confused. of course things like this always happen on a saturday and i can't get hold of her!!

i know all of you guys are well up to date with everything to do with the immigration process and will know the answer!!

my way of thinking is just get the EOI sent, what does it matter if it is 160 or 240, i would be selected from the pool either way. i am not going for glory of high points just want to get on with the process and in to nz!

at the back of my mind i have a little niggle that things have changed and now you need a job offer to get in.

our agent has been brilliant so far, but just want to run this by people who are actually living this process.

any thoughts greatly appreciated, as always.

Anything above 140 points is selected straight away.
If you have a job offer it will then be completed quicker (ITA, etc), but 140 points is the next level in priority.
I think 260 points would probably be some sort of record.

I agree with Rusty, it means you can get started on the ITA. Tell your CO when the job offer comes through ( as I'm sure it will ) and your ITA will be fast tracked.

I would also go for it now, if you get your PR without a job offer then you won't have to work for the employer for 3 months (no section 18A) which is always an advantage especially if you don't like where you end up.

thanks for your help once again. i can't understand what my agent is on about then. so the rules haven't changed then after all. i will be on to her straight away on monday.
