I would just like to say hi to everyone. My wife and I are just trying to complete the E.O.I form at the moment so we are still in the early stages. We are applying under the skilled migrant category as Laura is a trained nurse with more than 10 years experience.
One thing I am confused about is as I am applying from the UK do I need or what is a "Taxation Number" and also do I need my "Social Sercurity Number"? I must have a SS number but as I am not unemployed and claiming benefits I do not have it.
I've looked on the net and it seems that if I do require my SS number I would need to make an appointment with the local Job Centre to get it, is this also correct?
Well bye for now hope someone can throw some light on the above question
John.

Welcome to the forum!
I think I put my national insurance no. in for both of these if I remember correctly.
Someone else will know for sure.
I'm also a nurse, in sunny auckland, if I can help in any way let me know.
Have fun filling in the EOI.

Hello and welcome to the friendliest forum around :yes
You only need to put down your National Insurance Number. Remember its the same form for everybody regardless of where they live so some countries call the number something different. If you have already obtained an IRD number (NZ tax number) then you could put that on form too, if not, no worries.
Good luck on the emigration roller coaster.

Hi and welcome to the forum. We put down our NI numbers for both taxation & social security. I too am a nurse due to arrive in Chrisdtvhurch in September. As someone already pointed out your wife will need to get cracking on her nurse registration - details can be found here. http://www.nursingcouncil.org.nz/reg.html But be warned the process can take a while. Ask away if you need to know anything as we have just got our PR so things are still relatively recent. Good luck :clap
