We have brought our Soda Stream machine over and needing to have it refilled. Have been to Farmers/Woolworths etc but our bottle seems to have a different thread from the ones here. So has anyone had this problem - where can I take it to be refilled using the bottles I have?

Would hate to think Ive carted it from the other side of the world and cant use the thing!!:wah

Hiya - we have to buy new gas bottles - we get them from Noel Leeming or the other electrical outlets as we can't find them in the supermarkets/Farmers etc here.

Thanks Moorf - will they then be able to screw into my machine as I seem to think our machine from S. Africa might have a different thread? Thanks for yr advise

Hmmm not sure - I'll take a snap of our gas canisters later so you can compare :)

Our local New Worlds sell soda stream refill, unless it is different design
(Thanks to Moorf, our son is very interesting in getting one for his birthday, so i had looked at it in our New Worlds)

Well it was his first time to drink fizzy drink...lucky he doesn't know what is cola or lemonade yet.
I get the rolleston's number via your email so you can check before you pop in (I told her about her snowman gone, she went "ooohhhhhh":no)

(Just been to Rolleston's New World for my weekly shopping)

:raebanana YEP they do sell refills and most New World sell it. All you have to bring your old gas bottle and go to customer service desk to swap for new bottle and cost you just over $9 per bottle.

The refill canister here in New World has different threads compared to the one we bought from SA. I contacted Soda Stream to find out where I could get them refilled. They said they couldnt fill our bottles but would deliver a brand new machine and new gas bottles. Think thats really great service - so anyone else having that problem - we have an email address - just PM and I will get it to you.

Now THAT's what I call service :nice1 (plus they make all their cash from the canisters and mixers ;) so to lose you would have been silly !)

That sounds like a great price. In most places in the states there are no local dealers and you have to exchange using UPS. The last time I exchanged two gas bottles it costs US$40 plus US$15 for shipping.

I had no idea Soda Stream were even still in business! I should have swiped my parents' one as they've not used it in years! :laugh I'd only use it for just making soda water though. We don't 'do' fizzy drinks. Thankfully daughter hates them. :nice1 Now I'm going to investigate getting one to avoid spending 79c on a 2L buttle of soda every few days. ;) :p

It's very handy when you're out in the sticks like us as you never run out of bubbles :) and I use natural cordials or juice where I can so that they're not full of sugar/nasties... I don't like the soda stream mixers too much. The best mixer is the Bundaberg Ginger Mixer... makes great ginger beer!! :yes

My Kiwi colleagues pronounce "ginger" with a hard "g". :D Even the one with ginger hair. :laugh

Good idea to use natural mixers. :) :nice1
