Our son has passed his first part of his learners license and now not needing the code book - kindly given to us by other forum members - so we have a it available and would like to pass it on to the next person - anyone needing it I will put it in the post.

Thank goodness I wont be needing it when the law changes in Sept and will just be able to change my SA license.:raebanana:raebanana

What's going to happen in September in road code?

From September drivers from countries deemed to have similar road rules will not be required to pass a theory test in NZ to gain a drivers licence here, as long as they have a full licence from their original country. They can just convert their licence to an NZ one (for a fee of course)

The list of countries is available online (can't remember where, there is a link on the forum somewhere but UK, US, SA etc all on there)

Seems crazy, this is clearly to do with politics rather than safety. The UK rules are probably closest to the NZ road code but there are still very important differences that can get you fined or killed. How they can consider that US or Greek rules are similar escapes me.

Greek rules are similar escapes me.

Bang on:yes:yes having driven in that country i found that you took your life in your own hands, as they are totally crazy.
