Hi,

Big hello to everyone on this forum whether in the UK or over in NZ already! We're new on this forum, currently living in Halifax, West Yorks, but hopefully not for long. We have looked into emigrating now for several years and have finally taken the plunge and will be submitting our EOI very soon. Can't wait!

Will be exploring the in's and out's of this forum to pick up as much info as we can and will be picking the brains of anyone willing to help with any queries we have.

Both OH and myself are Marine Biologists and we are hoping to get work out in either Northland or Bay of Plenty (fingers crossed) but are keeping our options open to all opportunities! We have two gorgeous little girls (currently 4 and 2) that mean the world to us and have been a major factor in us making such an emotional and life changing decision.

Would love to hear from anybody in a similar situation or from anybody who lives out there already:)

Hi Jules & Eyan and welcome to the forum :)

We have a little boy aged 5 who also means the world to us. We too have decided to take the plunge for reasons similar to yours and also before it's too late. Without going into too much detail... UK has gone to the dogs, sold our UK property in 2006 and bought a beautiful farmhouse in France.

Before we finally decide to settle we've decided to give NZ a 2 year trial run.

Good luck with your EOI :nice1

Thanks guys...

I have to say, having had a quick look around this forum I feel quite at home already! Have been looking on other forums and they don't seem as friendly nor do they contain as much info and are often quite negative :(.

We're looking forward to going through the whole process and know we'll have our up's and down's - but that's the beauty of life...you can make it your own and I would rather look back on what we did do than the what if's!

Hello! I'm a newbie to this forum too but have already found a lot of extremely useful information and the daftest questions have been answered graciously and politely =)

We have 2 small boys (2 and 6 months) and are making the move to NZ mostly for them - we were looking around to see where in the UK we'd like to settle permanently to give them a good childhood and realised there wasn't anywhere. Seems like NZ has a reputation for being a good place for families (justly deserved I think, on the little we saw on our recce trip last year).

Good luck with the application - ride the ups and try to use the downs as momentum for getting higher up the next hurdle!

Welcome to the forum,
Our girls were the same ages as yours when we submitted our EOI, been here 18 months now & they've settled in, no problem. Much easier with littlies than older kids I think.
Good Luck with all your plans.

It's available on the Foodtown website so it should be available in their shops and no doubt the others too.

If you like this sort of drink then you should also try Milo which is very popular in NZ.

Hiya,

We emigrated from Halifax (lived in Highroad Well/Norton Tower) 2 years ago, and we love it out here! Get on and do it, you won't look back!

If you need any more info, feel free to ask!
