Just a warning for anyone submitting their ITA.

We have been pulled up ref Relationship proof!!!

Married for 12 years so enclosed marriage cert (original & copy)
Children’s birth certs, that have our names on them (original & copy)
Recent joint utility bill

And this was not enough!!!!!!

Apparently some of it was too old, some too recent. They want evidence that covers around 2000. So please take care when submitting your paperwork as even the smallest things can cause delays.

Tim.

Sounds a bit confused. You would think that the marrage cert would be enough. What sort of info do they require fro yr 2000?. Got our ITA in todays post so can avoid making the same error.

I guess something that proves you have been in a continuous relationship for that duration.
We have had to send a joint building society pass book that covers the years in between. We couldn't believe that of all the thing's that could be wrong with our paperwork it's turned out to be this!!!

You gave the same things that we did and they were fine with us, perhaps a bit unlucky... sorry ::(

Yes - don't assume just because you have been married (even :laugh for a very long time!!!) that the marriage certificate will do. Our officer needed 5 pieces of evidence!!! (managed to scrabble some bills and statements together).

Yes defininitely sound like you have a bit of a funny clerk ! We included this, nothing more, and we sailed through. Just the luck of the draw I suppose.

We just had to cover the last 12 months - marriage cert, kids birth certificates, joint bank statements for various months over the last year, utility bill covering last year, and a copy of our last 2 mortgage statements (with both names on). No problems with that.

Same here, we didn't even have a joint utility bill, so either they have tightened up the rules, or Tim was unlucky?
