After 9 months of tension and waitings since I submitted my EOI, I decided to cancel my ITA. I don't want to go further in a process that has no timeframe, no response and decision is always not guaranteed.

Before I had submitted my EOI, I checked the NZIS website and it was mentioned that PAR was sufficient. I also used the Points assessment and nothing was mentioned there about full assessment for applicants without job offers.

Now I'm in a deadlock: NZQA has not assessed my application and it has been three months since they received it. NZIS refuses to extend my ITA and told me that I should send my ITA without the NZQA report.

If I sent my ITA and later NZQA assessed my qual. as level 6 or lower or if they didn't get a response back from the third party to complete the verification, then I would loose 1800USD (medicals + fees)!!! This is insane for someone living in a third world country where saving 1800USD is a real miracle that takes at least two years of hard work to happen :no

If I don't hear something back from NZQA within a week, then I'll contact my EOI officer to let her know that I'm not stupid enough to risk with 1800UDS, I'll tell her that I really wanna cancel the ITA.

After I cancel my ITA, I'll wait till the end of this year. If NZQA completes my assessment, I may submit another EOI else I'll think of another country (Canada or Australia). At least they have embassies in Egypt which may help.

My advice to all applicants without job offers is: if you live in a third world country where communications with colleges are not guaranteed, then go for the full assessment not the PAR. This is to save you 1800USD and tension.

Do you think they will allow me to submit another EOI later if I cancel my ITA? Please advice.

Thank you

AM

Sorry to hear things aren't working out for you :(

I can fully understand your sentiment with regard to the $
Once your qualification is assessed, and I'm sure it will be eventually, you could re-submit to the pool with an accurate points total. I can't see why you wouldn't be allowed to submit again, although withdrawal may be frowned upon unless you can successfully demonstrate to NZIS your reason for doing so.

Hello. :) So sorry things don't seem to be working out for you. I do hope this doesn't sound (too) harsh, but you always need to remember that moving to another country is a privilege, not a right. I hope it all turns out as you want it to. I got points deducted when I first dubmitted my EOI, but just came to NZ instead of coming here with PR first.

Best of luck to you!!!!!

Thank you very much for your reply. I understand what you mean and I totally agree with you. Just I blame NZIS & NZQA for not being clear and picky sometimes. If NZIS is aware of NZQA delays, why they refused to extend my ITA till NZQA reply? They must understand that many immigrants are not that rich to spend money here and there without a guarantee.

Thanks slider. Do you think that canceling my ITA may result in refusing any future EOI?

Thanks slider. Do you think that canceling my ITA may result in refusing any future EOI?

But if you want to submit another EOI in the future, wouldn't you have to pay for other medical exams?

Fortunately I haven't done the medicals yet.

Just playing devil's advocate.
I have no expertise in this area but NZIS may question your commitment to the move. I guess there is a degree of subjectivity from the assessor themselves whereby 1 may not be happy that you have previously expressed an interest before pulling out, whilst another may think nothing of it - that's just human nature.
If I understand your initial post correctly, you have not yet submitted an ITA, just expressed an interest in emigrating to NZ so may not be so bad after all.

Good luck with whichever road you decide to take. :nice1

If you cancel an ITA you can submit another EOI in the future no problem.
Lots of people have things come up that causes them to cancel their ITA. Don't worry about it. Just tell them you are canceling pending hearing back from NZQA and plan to resubmit in the future.
When I had to cancel a previous ITA they didn't have any questions and just wished me luck in the future.

Good luck with NZQA. I know you've had a hard time with them. :(

Thanks you. Just wanna make sure how to cancel the ITA and whether I'll need to fill a new EOI later or just re-submit the old one.

Hi Mesh

So sorry things didn't work out for you. I've followed your posts and feel sad for you that things didn't happen it time. You always had that worry and there is no pleasure to be proved right in this. :(

To cancel your ITA you'll have to contact someone at NZIS, email or whatever, with your case number. It should be on your ITA paperwork as well as on the NZIS site where it tells you your EOI has been selected. Just tell them you'd like to cancel ITA case ##### and you should get a confirmation from them that it is canceled.

You will, unfortunately, have to submit another EOI, including the fee, in the future.

Thank you :) Yes, you are right. Since I sent my qual. to NZQA, I have always felt that things wouldn't go the right way :( The only thing I care about at the moment is whether NZQA will reply before my NZQA application expire or not. They told me that if they didn't complete the verification within 6 months, my NZQA application would be closed :(
:roll I'm not ready for more bad news

hi mesh, i'm so sorry about how things are going on. :( like everyone says, there wouldn't be much problem if you cancel your ITA, and then submit another EOI once you have the NZQA assessment. hope this experience wouldn't deter you from your original aim of moving to the kiwiland.

although i haven't been to nz myself, i'm sure everything will be paid off once we get to that point.

cheers.

Mesh,

I'm surprised NZIS isn't willing to extend your ITA deadline due to NZQA delays. I have had mine extended twice - first time for one month when I haven't heard from NZQA, and the second time for another two weeks for me to sort out whether I wish for NZQA to re-evaluate my degree (which was graded as Level 6 instead of the expected Level 7).

I agree that submitting your ITA without a NZQA report, especially for an IT guy, is not recommended. I'm also surprised you were advised to submit your ITA without NZQA report - I was advised by my EOI officer to wait for my report to arrive before submitting.

Luckily I was fortunate enough to be able to drop everything in Singapore and come to NZ to look for a job, which saved my application eventually (after a long struggle (http://www.emigratenz.org/forum/showthread.php?t=18956)). I really feel for you and hope it turns out well in the end.

All the best.
