*##% might hit fan tomorrow when I tell parents but tonight its too late to ring them and I can enjoy the buzz for a bit longer !!

Yes you can usually be pretty specific with when you want your removal company to come and pack as long as they've had plenty of warning. I think the norm is around 3/4 weeks from making a firm booking.

Back to back Summers will be great. Wish we hadn't done back to back Winters as my two boys seem to be struggling with:

they feel ready for Summer hols but have a long time to go yet
I think they would be settling better if we could get out and explore more at the weekends

I know it's early days yet but I agree that Summer to Summer is better.

We did back to back summers- could still be a bit on the cooler side in October, but definately the best way to adjust in my book!

Congrats Vicki, another one joins the exodus! We on our way back up tomorrow, flying out of Auck tomorrow evening (Tues), definitely with a return ticket!!!!

Got them on the desk in front of me to work out the times etc.

Yay! Congratulations Vicki (and gang). As BBB said, we did back to back winters but you know we got the hottest April on record in Scotland before we left and arrived to the hottest May on record in Hamilton, so no complaints from us.

Yes - I had a funny feeling in my tummy BUT we haven't even booked one way!! ;)
We are (at the moment ) without visas so coming over as visitors on return tickets. If things change- eg. job offer, visa before we go then we'll see if we can alter flight or get partial refund but if not then its just one of those things :) Plus I can use it as a calming point when I tell the parents later today - they might be more reassured if they think we still have a ticket "home" !!

At moment still unsure on where we want to settle - well I have to have a bit more uncertainty for a while longer don't I??!! I've been on the UK housing market for a year - I'm used to uncertainty now!
