Hi everyone,

We arrived in Hawkes Bay week last Friday, started work last Wednesday. Have managed to buy a car and find a nice rental. Still feeling tired and it's all a bit surreal but I'm sure things will all fall into place. Feeling a lot more settled since we moved out of the motel to the rental.
Things to do this week is enrol oldest in school and find childcare for youngest 2 for near future. Still need to get broadband sorted also. My heads in a whirl but at least after months of trial and tribulation we're here!!
Anyone living in the bay it'd be nice to meet up and start building a social network.
Also where's best to buy firewood - it's all the little things that confuse.

Will keep you all up to date as things unfold.

Teri :cheers

I'm not jealous, honest!
Is it cold enough for firewood in "sunny" Hawkes Bay?
Best of luck with settling in and enjoy!:nice1

Sorry Teri, didnt see the bit about firewood.

We have only ever bought 2 lots since out here, both found in Hawkes Bay Today newspaper. Roughly between $150 - 200 a cord.

Last lot was lovely, cant recall name and hubby not here to remins me (stupid but know it started with M..........). We paid about $160 for this back beginning of year. The delivery man was great!

This time, we had a top up, and had pine delivered last week, was $180, nice big pieces but not so nice wood and also wet which was not what we were told! Delivery man a bit obnoxious hubby said too!

Hi

Well we are awaiting the visas, I know they are being delt with as we have spoken with the case officer, but still waiting. Hope to be in Hawkes Bay August.
OH will be working in Hastings and we are looking at living in Taradale.

Just now the house sale is going through at last after some messing about from someone who changed his mind.

We have 2 boys who are so excited but I dare not tell the school until I have the visas in my hand, and I know it's really going to happen, I hope it does as we have planned this move for the past 8 years or something, just can't believe we are so close to it really happening.
