Hi All,

Being my very first post on this forum I want to say a BIG HI.. to all of you. :)

My EOI got selected from the last fortnightly selection (18th June) and now waiting for the ITA to arrive. But I'm quite curious to know about the time it takes to get the ITA from NZ immigration.
I'm a Software Engineer in profession (from Sri Lanka) and currently don't hold a job offer, but planning to start look into it.

It would be great if you all can share your experience so it will help me to make a rough estimation of the waiting time.

Thanks a lot in advance! :)

Hi Jini and welcome to the site. :nice1 It all depends on your job status (you don't have an offer - those with offers go to the top of the queue) and how many points you have. So if you don't have a job offer and 105 points, you could wait months and months and months, but if you have a job offer and a ton of points (it's even better if you're already working here with a work permit!).

Thanks a lot to all of you. :)

I have scored 110 points from EOI, but unfortunately don't have a job offer. Apparently a job offer will speedup the process and definitely something for me to work on.

Do you think the employers (from IT industry in my case) will give more attention to the people who wait for ITA (like me) when recruiting employees to their companies? In other words what's the possibility of winning a job offer by a person who's waiting for an ITA?

Thanks!
