We've recently moved to Raumati Beach from the UK, and whilst my OH has found work in Welly, I work in a specialist area of film & TV, which is much harder to recruit for.

So whilst I am waiting to land a job I currently spend most of my day looking after the house, going to the gym (cityfitness in Paraparaumu) and learning new graphics/editing software packages!

However as the sociable bunny that I am, I am throughly bored with my own company and could really do with some friends if anyone would like to meet up for coffee or do a class at the gym?

Raumati Beach is a sweet little town...with a GREAT library (are they ALL so wonderful in NZ??). Volunteer at the checkout desk for a few months and you'll meet half the town!

Or offer up a class at the local high school teaching the kids film technique and meet some fine staff/families along the way.

Work at the great little bakery in the town near the beach...or one of the great little cafes (on Rosetta Rd or the road b/w Raumati Beach and the highway that takes you into Welly).

We're moving up to Wellington shortly and have our hearts set on buying somewhere to live around the Paraparaumu Beach/Raumati Beach area. We'd love to meet other expats in the area so will give you a shout when we arrive.

My wife will only work part-time so there will be at least a few days a week where she'll be coffee-ing and/or gyming.

Hi Actiongirl, we are moving out there on the 5th Sept, and would like to live in that area, i wont be working to start with and will be looking at joining the gym, so someone to exercise with would be great.
