Does anyone know where I can buy semolina from in Wellington?..... I'm struggling to find any at the moment and it's a key ingredient to making Monster Cookies!
Yummmy! :D
Many thanks

Can definitely confirm that you can buy it in the Wellington region as we have some in the kitchen.
Trouble is we tend to shop at all the supermarkets so I could have picked it up from any of them, so not much help there, sorry.

I think I have seen them at New worlds, next to baking sections with tapcioa (?sp)
I know I have seen it but trying to remember where. I usually shop at my local New worlds, rarely go to others like pak'n'save, woolworth and countdown because they are in christchurch.

Bin Inn sells it - and you can scoop as much or as little as you like
Monster cookies are making me curious; I'd love it if you could post the recipe :)

Don't think there are any Bin Inns around Wellington (or at least I couldn't find any last time I searched?)
I second the posting of the recipe :yes

That's odd, I thought they'd be everywhere since we've had one in Invercargill for some 15 years...
anyway, if you can't find it at a supermarket up there, let me know and I'll post you a scoop from down here (in exchange for the recipe :) )

Ok ok by popular demand here is the recipe.
Its low in fat too - so great if you are into healthy eating :)
MONSTER COOKIES (makes 2)
30grams Oats (any breakfast oats are fine)
30grams Skimmed Milk Powder
30grams Semolina
1 tablespoon of splenda (or soft brown sugar).
65g apple sauce
Put it all together in a bowl and mix to form a thick mixture.
(add a little water if it is too thick)
spread mixture to form 2 big cookies on a baking tray and place in the oven until it starts going goldern.
Remove, cool and eat!
VARIATIONS (added straight to the mixture)
Chocolate chips (really nice to eat when the cookies are still warm)
Dates and 1/4 teaspoon ground cinimon.
Enjoy! I'm off to New World to see if I can find some semolina!
