Since moving to Wellington the two things I miss the most (apart from Central Heating of course) are good cheese and meat. I'm quite fussy about my meat and love strong cheese. I've found the cheese I've bought in the supermarkets so far to be quite tasteless and disapointing. I'm missing my Sunday morning trips to the organic market for sheeps cheese, "tasty" cheddar just doesn't cut it! I've searched online for cheesemongers but they only seem to be in Christchurch.

I've also found the quality of meat to be not great but can't seem to find a butchers around.

Does anyone know anywhere in Wellington you can get good cheese and meat?

Any good butchers/nice hidden shops I'm missing? Any suggestions for cheese in easier to find places that are tasty?

Thanks!

Have you tried Moore Wilsons in town ?

Does a good cheese selection and the meat is used quite often in the catering business :nice1

Sorry, should have said, we do have a car so as lon as it's not too far out I'm willing to travel! Where in Island bay is it? On the main street? (Had lovely fish and chips around there two weeks ago!)

I did go to Moore Wilson's once and the meat did look like better quality. Will have ot go back and try it. Didn't notice the cheese range but will have a look!
