I've tried searching for this, but it doesn't allow searches for IT or ICT as it's too short!

Does anyone know if there are ICT Secondary teachers in New Zealand or if these go under a different name? I've tried searching for jobs, but haven't seen a single one so far.

Do most schools require secondary teachers to have more than one subject to teach?

Are there any other ICT teachers out there, or does anyone know of any in NZ?

Does anyone know if I can claim IT as a future growth area as my degree is in computing, and I have been working in IT teaching it, but can I claim that as well as teaching as a shortage subject?

Any help would be appreciated, thanks

Nat

There are two IT jobs advertised today in the Ed Gazette - one of them is a Head of ICT - both in Canterbury. I don't know if it is a shortage subject but they obviously teach it! Good luck with your searching.

Ah yes, thanks for that. I didn't realise they sometimes use the word computer teacher instead of ICT. I've found a couple now thanks.
