We have been here since Feb, alls well, except our fancy Dualit toaster and (decent quality) Philips iron don't work properly. The iron does not get very hot, and the toaster takes AGES to toast.

So bright spark here changed all the elements in the toaster - its a few years old - made no difference at all. So now we have a Kiwi toaster and iron. Anyone know why? Have scanned the electrical posts, could not see anything obvious.

Cant help sorry - our Dualit totaster is working perfectly. We blew an element a couple of weeks ago but got another shipped from the UK which was cheaper than getting here but other than that all is good!

Thanks a lot guys. The kettle is rated at 2300w, the toaster 1700w. So the should both work fine. Maybe the toaster just has a loose wire or something - will have to get the toolbox.

Brrrr its cold in Auckland today. Sitting in our "modern" house with one oil heater warming the office & three layers on - I miss central heating!
