Hi All
Not too sure how to go about this one, maybe someone has an answer.
I just got my ITA yesterday, I have most the paper work ready and will submit in around 2 weeks time.
I was hoping to go to NZ in September find a job and start working but, judging by the forum I will not have a PR by this time. I still plan on going in September find a job, ger a work permit and carry on with my application from that side........is this possible ?
The next problem is that my Cop Clearance and Medical would already have been submitted with my ITA. Do I need to get another medical/clearance to be able to work while my application has been submitted ?
Cheers
Andrew.

Hi Andrew,
Not sure why you don't think you'll have PR by September? I just received my ITA today and my immigration agent said I should have PR in 6-8 weeks from when we submit the ITA. If you submit by mid July PR should be beginning to mid September. What are you doing about your interview? My understanding is that applicants from SA have to have a face-to-face interview. You either wait until the schedule a visit to SA for interviews or you can request one in London. The latter is my plan - a great excuse to go visit all my old varsity mates that left SA and now live in the UK. I've been told to expect this around mid August.
Good luck with the final wait. Not too long now.
ps: See http://www.emigratenz.org/forum/showthread.php?t=18985 - it only took 2 weeks from submission to approved in principle for these guys.

From my agent. I should add it would appear only if you don't have a job offer. If you have a job offer then no interview. I'm sure others that have gone through the process will be able to confirm. My understanding is that where South Africa differs is that we have to have a face-to-face interview where as it seems all other countries get a telephonic interview. Who knows why!

Hi AndrewP
Thanks for the info, but when I got my ITA pack it did not tell me anything about how the interview will take place. You are 100% correct though....if you don't have a job offer you will probarbly require an interview.
I will wait and see what happens once the ITA has gone in. When you planning on mking the move?
Cheers

Your medical and cop clearance will be fine for your work visa, just reference your PR application number. :)
And yes it is completely legal for you to come over as a visitor while you have an ITA submitted. You don't have PR or a work visa (/permit), you are still a visitor. :)
Best of luck! :nice1
