Assuming we get PR, are there any restrictions on the amount of time you can spend out of NZ?
I ask because we may have the opportunity of returning back to France for a period of time and will obviously wish to keep PR in place for returning back to NZ.
Thanks :nice1

Hi,
Dont know whether this will help, but I have PR for Australia as we were planning to go there. But we now plan to go to NZ.
I phoned the Australian Embassy and they said that I had to spend 2 years out of the 5 year pr visa in Australia, the other 3 years I could spend outside Australia and still remain pr of Australia. So I will be going to NZ on my Australia visa. If we like NZ then I will spply for NZ pr when I am there but if we dont like it we can go to Australia.
Anyway, what I am saying is that I would imagine NZ pr works the same, you would have to spend a minimum amount of time in NZ to remain qualified for the pr.
Hope this has helped a little bit.

When you get your PR you are also issued with RRV - allowing you to leave & return to NZ. If you then leave again you will need to apply for another RRV. However if you spend at least 183 days per year for the last 2 years in NZ then you will qualify for an IRRV allowing you to leave and return as often as you like without reapplying.

Thanks rowells and Nicky, that's the sort of flexibility we may need... pleasing to know that PR will be kept in place should I take up future work offers.
Thanks again for your help :nice1
