Possible job offer in Palmerston North. Does any one know anything about this area? I did not pass through when I was in NZ. I am looking for any info but in particular any info on schools, parks, facilities for kids etc?
Thank you very much in advance.
Also does anyone know anything about the hospital?
:)

Look at Marcia's posts; all very informative.

Wouldn't say an expert - but yes we live in palmy - well on the outskirts.
Can't tell you about the hospital - haven't been in it (touch wood) But it is big!
Lots of good schools in the city and nice country schools as well. If living in town, you do need to pick your area carefully, lots of students lets and a couple of 'rougher' areas I would avoid.
Fantastic Lido swimming complex, huge library, brilliant park (Victoria Esplanade) Good variety of shops, they are doing a huge upgrade on the Plaza at the moment, extending it and making a 'multistory' (two floors!!!!) car park!
One of the good things about Palmy is its pretty central for the lower North Island, couple of hours to Wellington or Napier, 3 hours to Taupo.
Pm me if you want to ask about specific areas or anything - will be glad to help!
You could also Pm a lady on here called Dawn (dawnshaun) page 4 of d's on the member list - they don't log on much but we do know them from football - Dawn is a midwife at the hospital so may be able to help that way!
Good luck

I was in Vegas for a month from Ohio. I rather hate Vegas, but my family lives there, so I stopped there to say good bye.
Thus far Palmy is green. It seems like a nice place so far but then, we only went from the airport to where we are staying. But I will say that the lack of insulation does make the house feel cold.
