I hate dentists, and completely freak out when I need treatment. However, I broke a previously filled tooth tonight, so need to get it sorted...

Can anyone please recommend someone kind and gentle, preferably Kapiti Coast, or Wellington city centre, for me to go to? I usually spend the first 10 minutes in a shuddering heap, crying my eyes out - I'm really that nervous!

Have had similar problem and I can recommend: Symes de Silva on Courtenay Place in Wellington - phone number: 04 - 801 55 51. They are also open in the weekends so very convenient.

in the uk, i have an intraveanous knock out injection and wake up all done! its not cheap but better than having no teeth which would be the other alternative..

I've not even had a check-up since we've been here :o oopsie... so I'm afraid I can't help with finding a dentist for you. However when I was still int he US I went to my daughter's pediatric dentist. He's used to working on tiny, tiny teeth so it was kind of nicer for him to work on bigger teeth. I had to have a root canal :eek: and a crown, and THE BEST THING he did is something no other dentist has ever done. And that is to offer me gas. :D I won't go to the dentist without them having nitrous oxide available now. :D

Would also suggest you try Symes de Silva (http://www.symesdesilva.co.nz/)

They always have emergency appointments so they will be able to see you quickly, and as has already been said they are open evenings and weekends also.

Otherwise, you may want to try the Gentle Dental Centre which is also in the CBD, at least the name sounds comforting :yes
